Day 1 – Arrival day

Welcome to Kiruna! When arriving at Kiruna Airport, you have landed above the Arctic Circle of Sweden. A short transfer will bring you to the small village of Jukkasjärvi, where the world’s first ICEHOTEL is located. Here you can see the fantastic ice sculptures and the ice rooms in peace on your own. You may also grab a drink at the ICEBAR to officially kick off your Arctic Sweden Winter Holiday!

In the evening, you will join a thrilling northern light snowmobile safari across the Arctic winter landscape. Picturing a clear sky and darkness in the wild, you have the best ingredients for hunting the northern lights. Along the way you will make a stop by a warm wilderness cabin where a delicious 2-course dinner is served.

Day 2 – Sami culture & overnight Dogsledding tour

The morning you can spend at ease. We recommend to take a leisure walk to the nearby Sámi-open air museum to learn the genuine Sámi culture. Discover Sápmis history and find out how the Sámi once lived according to their 8 seasons and survived a nomadic life in the Arctic. On top of this, you can see some reindeer that graze daily at the museum grounds.

In the afternoon you will experience a top-of-the-range overnight excursion. You will drive your own team of enthusiastic huskies. The tour starts near the ICEHOTEL and goes along the tracks in snow-covered winter landscape. Enjoy the tranquillity and the sound of the dog’s paws against the snow while you are driving deeper into the woods. Eventually, you reach your accommodation for the night in a cozy wilderness lodge, secluded in the forest.  While your guide is preparing a warm dinner for you, you may warm up in the wood-heated sauna and roll yourself into the snow, make a “snow-angel” like the local does. If the sky is clear, hopefully you will see the magical northern lights in the evening.

Day 3 – Abisko and Aurora Sky Station

After breakfast, you help to harness the dogs and drive your own dog sled back to the Husky Homestead again. Say farewell to the friendly huskies and return to the ICEHOTEL. Lunch, maybe have a last look in the souvenir shop from the ICEHOTEL, before heading to your next destination Abisko by train. Abisko is a small mountain village with it’s own train station, after arrival it’s a short walk to the STF Abisko Tourist Station, where you will spend the next 2 nights.

Check in, refresh and enjoy a dinner in the restaurant before taking the chairlift up to the Aurora Sky station, 900 meter above sea level. A 2km long chairlift will bring you to one of the best places on earth to watch the northern lights.

Day 5 – Departure Day
