CROSS COUNTRY SKIING LULEÅ

Cross country skiing has a special place in Sweden’s culture and history. Over the years, skiing has moved from being a way of transportation, to pure, social fun.  It is a clean, easy and wonderful way to travel through the Arctic outdoors. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique, our skiing classes are open to all ages and skill levels. The basics are simple to pick up, and with expert instruction, you’ll progress faster and more confidently than trying to learn on your own.

Skiing Class: Learn, Glide, and Explore

The focus is on the basic skills and techniques of classic or skate skiing. You will learn the basics of starting, stopping, turning and gliding across the snow on cross-country skis. After covering the fundamentals, you’ll head out on the trails with your instructor to put your new skills into practice—an inspiring way to experience the beauty of a Swedish winter.

Location: Ormberget Outdoor Centre, Luleå

The lessons take place at the scenic Ormberget Outdoor Centre, just minutes from the heart of Luleå. From the top, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the city. The centre has a ski slope, a sledging slope, an extensive network of lighted cross-country skiing tracks,  restaurant, service-cabin, fireplaces and more.

All equipment is provided, and no prior experience is needed. Upon request, cross country skiing classes can also be arranged at alternative locations.
